Yanagisako Aomi (柳迫 碧美 Yanagisako Aomi?) is a minor character in Toaru Kagaku no Railgun. An esper of a yet-known level, she is a close friend, fellow classmate, and roommate of Konori Mii's and is also a member of Judgment, though she is rarely seen working.
Appearance[]
She is a girl with long brown hair. She is also often seen wearing her striped shirt under her dress.
Personality[]
She is Mii's good friend and shows much concern for her, but not to the point where she will invade her privacy. She also jokes about not doing much work for Judgment as she is caught up in her love life.
Background[]
She is a member of Judgment, though for some reason is caught up with her love life. She knows many details regarding Mii, including her ordeal where she and a younger Shirai Kuroko is caught up in robbery against a power user, where Mii is injured. In the manga, Aomi arrives in the scene to treat Mii's wounds, she leaves shortly after giving joking about throwing away her Judgment armband, and giving Mii tips on her body.
She also knows Konori Mii's past as a member of Big Spider and her infatuation with its leader, Kurozuma Wataru.[1]
Chronology[]
Toaru Kagaku no Railgun[]
She appears in a flashback during Kuroko and Uiharu Kazari's younger days as members of Judgment. Here, she is seen treating Mii's wounds, and jokes about throwing away her armband after Mii asked her what happened to it.[2]
Big Spider Arc[]

She debuts in the anime during the Big Spider arc. Aomi wonders why Mii acting strangely and asks her about, however, Mii denies it.[3]
Misaka Mikoto, Shirai Kuroko, Uiharu Kazari and Saten Ruiko later go to her Aomi and Mii's apartment, to go ask her about Mii's involvement with Kurozuma Wataru. She lets them in and tells them that Mii used to be a member of Big Spider, and tells her of history with Kurozuma Wataru. She appears later, when Mii is going to The Strange, she tries to give Mii her armband but she simply ignores her and leaves.[1]
Silent Party Arc[]

Despite being completely absent for nearly the entirety of the anime, Aomi makes a sudden appearance for the climax of the Silent Party Arc, finally confirming that she remains a member of Judgment in the anime. Here, she first gets a call from Mii who asks her what she thinks of Academy City.[4] It is here that is likely that Mii asks Aomi the favor of asking Judgment to participate against the Silent Party and protect the Academy City Research Exhibition Assembly venue from STUDY. She somehow has the authority or seniority to do this, and she later rallies a countless number of them just after the break of dawn. She later participates in the battle, preventing the Powered Suits to enter the venue and delaying them until Mikoto finds a way to stop STUDY completely. She acts as the field leader during the battle, sending out commands. When STUDY later hacks into their communications and Edasaki Banri and other telepaths volunteer to create a communication network for Judgment using telepathy, Aomi apologizes for the bother but Banri says she doesn't mind.[5]
She later observes much of the events that transpire as the Powered Suits deactivate.[5]
She briefly reappears on September 2, while looking at the sky together with Mii from a window of their school.[5]
Dream Ranker Arc[]

Yanagisako Aomi, Konori Mii, and the other members of Judgment Branch 177 are deployed to the park in order to prevent the accident. Aomi and Mii are aware of what Kuroko and Uiharu are doing on account of how they have been in many incidents as of late. They are relieved that the other Judgment branches are willing to help them but laments how they cannot notify Anti-Skill without any real evidence. Finally, they wonder why they don't just seal off the entire park.[6] Once all the civilians are rescued, Judgment gathers in one place and one of them performs a quick experiment to demonstrate the flammability of the ampoules' contents.[7][8]
