Toaru Majutsu no Index Light Novel v01 cover — The original cover of *Toaru Majutsu no Index* Volume 1.

From the most recent part of the story to the very start, with the date of the 20th anniversary approaching, the Featured Article this time is for where it all began; Toaru Majutsu no Index Volume 1.

Its story introduces a world of both science and magic, the primary setting of Academy City where advanced technology and scientifically-developed espers are commonplace, and main protagonist Kamijou Touma, the high school boy plagued by misfortune whose right hand dispels the supernatural. It covers his first meeting with Index, the nun with a perfect memory and the contents of 103,000 grimoires in her head, and the initial events which result from it. When magic and science cross paths, the story begins...

Kamachi Kazuma's debut work as a light novel author, it marks the start of the original Toaru Majutsu no Index series (later referred to as the 'Old Testament') as well as the overall Toaru series. First published on April 10th 2004, the volume was coincidentally(?) released one hundred years to the date when the alleged dictation of the Book of the Law's contents to Aleister Crowley was completed.

In Toaru Kagaku no Railgun S, now revolution day has come for STUDY, and with all their puissant arms are determined to bend Academy to their will. No sacrifice is too much for their goal, and they believe that none now can stop them. Who now can stand against the will of STUDY?

Why of course our dear Misaka Mikoto and her friends. In a race against time, Mikoto takes Febrie towards where Janie's powers call her, while her friends and some back-up try and crash STUDY's little Silent Party. Now both of the two parties pull all aces out of their sleeves for the final conflict. Thus begins the exciting climax of the Silent Party Arc.

(April 10, 2024) A new volume is released as the series celebrates its 20th Anniversary: The tenth volume of Souyaku Toaru Majutsu no Index is released, as the Toaru series celebrates its 20th anniversary. Having barely survived CRC, Touma is now faced with the chaos unleashed on Academy City by a revived Alice Anotherbible. Can he save both the captive Index and the rampant Alice, and will he live to see the end of the winter break? [new]

(April 5, 2024) Item Volume 3 and Ace VS Queen Volume 1 in June: Volume 3 of Toaru Anbu no Item and Volume 1 of Ace VS Queen have been announced and are set to be released in June 2024. [new]

(January 10, 2024) Toaru Kagaku no Mental Out: The Queen's Play Released: In a joint class at Tokiwadai, Shokuhou Misaki performs Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream with Misaka Mikoto! The special edition of Toaru Kagaku no Mental Out volume 3 came with a novel written by Kamachi Kazuma.
