• (March 27, 2017) Railgun sidestory announced: With the 10th anniversary of Dengeki Daioh and Toaru Kagaku no Railgun coming in April, a new sidestory manga has been announced, to be illustrated by Nogi Yasuhito. Toaru Kagaku no Railgun Gaiden: Astral Buddy will begin in April in Dengeki Daioh, detailing another incident which takes place during the Dream Ranker Arc, featuring the ringlet curl girl from Shokuhou Misaki's faction as the main character. • (August 9, 2017) Index/Virtual-On Crossover manga adaptation announced: Along with the PS4/PS Vita game currently being developed by SEGA, a manga adaptation of the Toaru Majutsu no Virtual-On crossover novel has been announced, to be illustrated by Karegishi Roji. It will begin serialization this fall in the biweekly Dengeki PlayStation.

• (September 19, 2017) Virtual-On PS4/Vita game to release on February 15, 2018: The first promotional video for the Toaru Majutsu no Virtual-On game was screened today at the 2017 PlayStation Press Conference in Japan showing gameplay footage and release dates for the game.
• (September 27, 2017) New Railgun Manga Arc to begin in October: This month's Dengeki Daioh magazine has revealed that the title of the 5th Toaru Kagaku no Railgun story arc will be the Jailbreaker Arc. The new arc is scheduled to begin in next month's issue.

• (October 1, 2017) Toaru Majutsu no Index Season 3 Confirmed for 2018: Dengeki Bunko editor Miki Kazuma confirmed during the Dengeki Bunko Autumn Festival 2017 that a third season of the Toaru Majutsu no Index anime series has been green-lit and will premiere on 2018 as part of the 2018 Toaru Project.
